Highly Recommend
We stayed at Isla Retreats two nights and loved it! It feels like home away from home, but in paradise. It is small, quaint, and quite (kid-free). For me, relaxing by the pool, reading a book, and sipping on fresh coconut water (provided in the common area fridge) was a highlight. The host, Katy, was very hospitable. She gave us recommendations for restaurants on the island, and even set us up with a private dinner from a local chef. The food was amazing and it is an experience I’ll never forget. Highly recommend a stay here if you want the inside scoop.

ABSOLUTELY amazing place!
The BEST place on isla. I have been coming to Isla Mujeres for years now. Mexico has my heart. I have stayed at Isla Retreats a few times and I am never going anywhere else. Very private units, clean, modern and amazing staff. I love to lounge I their pool or have fresh coconut. I will definitely be back sooner than later.

Amazing Place to Stay!
I had a wonderful stay at Isla Retreats. It’s a top notch property. I stayed in a one bedroom villa that was more than spacious and had all the amenities you would need for a longer stay. This included a fully equipped kitchen with new equipment and amenities. The living room had comfortable couch and relaxing chairs. Big screen Tv with Netflix. The bedroom and bathroom were comparable to a very nice hotel. The pool was incredible and there was an outdoor palapa with a gas grill bar and refrigerator. All the amenities of the villa were great. What made it special was the staff. Katy, the manager, was an incredible host. She was always around and had great recommendations. She also coordinated a delivery of fresh caught lobsters and fish for a very special Christmas Eve dinner. Her staff were also terrific and made sure my stay was comfortable. The apartment was cleaned everyday and they even did my laundry! I would highly, highly recommend this property.

Will be returning!
Staying at Isla Retreats (AKA "Casa De Katy" as referred to by locals) was an exceptional experience! I was traveling with a group of friends around the Cancun area and spent 2 nights here. Upon booking, Katy sent a very informative email about everything you need to know to getting to the residence starting from when you land in Cancun. Even though I was not staying in Isla Mujeres my first night, I found myself referring to this email several times as I made my way to Cancun. It made us feel much more comfortable when navigating our way to and through Mexico.

Upon arrival I was amazed with the beauty. It is a smaller intimate place with hand picked marble throughout the entire residence and spacious living areas. Katy provides a book with recommendations and tips and tricks for navigating the island. She was able to coordinate a golf cart rental for us that was delivered straight to Isla Retreats (highly recommend). She is an extremely hospitable host and I can't wait to visit again!

Gem of the island …
We just returned from a week at Isla Retreats. This is our second visit to Isla Mujeres during these Covid restrictive times. This time the "Traffic Light" health condition was "Yellow" as opposed to "Orange", and still things are very safe and the island residents and most of the tourists are respectful of the mask and distancing requirements. We felt safer on Isla Mujeres than at home, both trips August and November. Isla Retreats is mid island, but transportation is readily available and many excellent restaurants are close. The property is lush, and so hospitable, we hung out there most days anyway. The hosts Katy and Roberto are exceptional and so friendly. The staff is professional and friendly as well. There are only 6 units and it is adults only. Not sure why it is listed here as a B & B, as no breakfast is included. We had no problem getting to breakfast when we wanted however. The pool is a crown jewel. One of the nicest we have found on Isla. HEATED saltwater pool with easy access, and a perfect depth and ambiance with a nice waterfall and a palapa covered bar and frig right beside make it an ideal place to chill. Beach Clubs and North Beach are a five minute cab ride away for those who prefer the beach. Our hosts arranged golf cart delivery on site, a nice perk. The property is quiet, and pretty ideal for older couples. Younger folks would like it too. We will be back, and soon! An adult group would also really work well here.

RETURNING, RETURNING GUEST
We have just come home from Isla where we returned to Isla Retreats for our second time . We have just booked another week for February 2021 and will definitely be staying with Katy and Dave in 2022 which will be our 20th year staying on the island . We are glad they had this vision and made it all happen .
In a word I.R. is perfect . The decor , the design , the amenities , the pool ,the location and the owners and staff all contribute to what is a very enjoyable time away from home ....and maybe that is why its so great as it feels like home ...with the addition of an ocean , a salt water lagoon ,palm trees and near perfect weather .
All the rooms are comfortable and clean but you should check out the web site as there are differences . The property is well suited for those that want to put one's feet up , read and relax . The location is what i call mid island and for those who wish to explore there is a world of excitement outside the front door . No matter whether you turn North or South upon leaving the grounds you will find beautiful views and vistas, bakeries, craft beer stores, beaches, excellent restaurants of all sizes, and menus to fit everyone's taste and more. If you like to walk you are perfectly situated
This is only a small taste of Isla Retreats ( highly recommend ) and the Island. In our minds its all perfection .

Look no further-everything is done right at Isla Retreats!
From the moment we walked into Isla Retreats we knew it was a special place - the pool with waterfall, gorgeous landscaping, rooms with every amenity you can think of and incredible staff. Katy and her father have created a magical place and happily make sure that you are well taken care of. The rooms have wonderful, comfortable beds, a large bathroom, microwave, fridge, your own large pure water dispenser, safe, table and chairs, great a/c, plenty of towels for room and beach, even paper towels and ice!
When we wanted to rent a golf cart Katy arranged for one to be delivered and picked up from the site. We also wanted to go on a private sailboat instead of one of the large, crowded ones and that was arranged for us as well with the master sailor, Juan. We also appreciated the wonderful recommendations for great food and none disappointed! All of this made for one of the most fabulous vacations we have ever had.
Isla Retreats is located mid-island, away from the vendors, crowds and noise of Playa Norte, but a short and inexpensive ($2.60 per trip) cab ride from anywhere you want to go (we often walked to Playa Norte and it took less than a half hour). Plus, the local area has many excellent restaurants, and a large Costco-sized grocery store within walking distance.
We couldn't be happier with our stay at Isla Retreats and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others. Without question one of the best decisions we ever made!

Amazing & Beautiful Place to Stay!
We had never been to Isla Mujeres prior to our visit there the 3rd week of Oct 2019. Katy had emailed me prior with complete instructions on how to get there after arriving in Cancun which was extremely helpful. When we arrived at Isla Retreats, Katy happened to be out of town for a couple of days so she had Rosa, one of her housekeepers, there to greet us and show us to our room. We stayed in Villa 2 and everything in the room is so well designed and beautifully decorated. The beds are amazingly comfortable which is very unusual in Mexico! Katy had left a personal note welcoming us along with other useful information. Also, each room has a binder prepared with all kinds of information, maps, dining recommendations, etc. There was a chilled bottle of wine in our mini fridge as well as a red bottle of wine. Never have we stayed anywhere with this kind of amenities!
Isla Retreats itself is absolutely gorgeous. The attention to detail in everything is just amazing. The pool is stunning and the palapa is nice to sit under if you want out of the sun. All the grounds are so well maintained. The pictures you see posted about the resort are totally accurate. Plus we love that it's an adults only location.
Katy's recommendations on the best places to eat is "spot on"! We had some of the most amazing foods while visiting Isla. Everything is made so fresh. The location is great since it's usually just a 15 to 20 minute walk to excellent places to eat and we always felt quite safe while there too. Unfortunately, we didn't get to meet Dave as he wasn't arriving back from the States until the day after we left but Katy is an amazing hostess with such a sweet personality. She even met up with us in Centro on our final night there to enjoy an avocado martini (sounds weird but delicious!). She's also very beautiful too!
If we get to return to Isla Mujeres, this would be the only place we would consider staying! Absolutely loved it there.

AMAZING RESORT!
My husband and I have stayed here twice in Villa #1. The property is amazing and the owners are super nice people. Our room had a large bedroom, bathroom, living room and kitchen. Everything is always perfect! The private pool is very relaxing and the landscape feels like a tropical paradise. The location is ideal. You can get anywhere in minutes from where the resort is located! I highly recommend Isla Retreats and we will definitely be back. We've found our new "home" on the island!

Amazing Isla Retreats!
We had a wonderful nine nights at Isla Retreats! Villa 6 was spacious with two private outdoor balconies and all of the amenities you could want and a very comfortable bed. There is so much food available at local restaurants that we didn’t really cook, but you could if you wanted to in the fully equipped kitchen. We walked to nearby Chedraui grocery store for supplies and there are also a couple of small stores nearby for fruit, veggies, snacks and drinks. We really enjoyed the adults-only facility with beautiful pool and palapa. It is so hard to find adults-only villas! Katy was an awesome host and made us feel completely welcome and at home and even invited us to her chihuahua’s birthday party :-) Rosa and Elizabeth were attentive and kind in their housekeeping. We met Katy’s Dad, Dave, one day and it is so wonderful to see the pride of ownership by this father-daughter duo. They have done a magnificent job with this retreat. This was our second time to Isla Mujeres and it won’t be the last. We love that the villas are located in a residential area where we enjoyed lots of walks and chatting with locals. It is a hidden gem away from the hustle of Centro but close enough for a quick cab or golf cart ride to town. We are walkers and were happy to walk to town as well, just a couple of km away. Thank you Katy for a wonderful vacation!
